AFDERM MN + CREAM is a combination of Miconazole, Mometasone and Nadifloxacin which belongs to the group of medicines called Antifungals, Corticosteroids and Antibiotic respectively. It is used to treat bacterial and fungal skin infections like atopic and contact dermatitis, erythema multiforme, infective eczema, psoriasis and skin lesions.
Bacterial infection occurs when bacteria enter the body, increase the number of bacteria and cause a reaction in the body A fungal infection (mycosis) is a skin disease that is caused by a fungus when it enters the tissue. Fungal infections can be contagious and spread from one person to another person.
Before using AFDERM MN + CREAM, inform your doctor if you have psoriasis. AFDERM MN + CREAM is not recommended for use during pregnancy.
AFDERM MN + CREAM should be used with caution in breastfeeding women unless considered clearly necessary.
AFDERM MN + CREAM is not recommended for use in children under 2 years of age and it should be used with caution in elderly patients.
The most common side effects of this medicine are application site reactions (such as burning, irritation, itching, flaking and redness). Contact your physician if any of the above symptoms worsen.
It is used to treat bacterial and fungal skin infections such as:
AFDERM MN + CREAM is a combination of Miconazole, Mometasone and Nadifloxacin. Miconazole works by causing holes in the cell membranes of the fungi and works against fungi. Mometasone is a corticosteroid that works by blocking the various chemical messengers (like histamine) involved in allergic and non-allergic mediated inflammation. It reduces inflammation, itchiness and redness by preventing the traveling of infection-fighting white blood cells (WBCs) to the affected area of the body. Nadifloxacin belongs to antibiotic works by against the bacteria that cause skin infections and also inhibits the repairing of bacterial cells, thereby preventing the further spread of the infections.
Apply AFDERM MN + CREAM as directed by your physician. It is for external use only. Apply a thin layer of the medicine to the affected area of the skin and rub it gently. Your doctor will decide the right dose depends on your age, body weight and severity of infection.
Stop applying AFDERM MN + CREAM and contact your physician immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
Itchy skin:
Avoid hot baths because hot water can irritate the skin. Do not scratch the affected area. Use sunscreen and protective clothing when outdoors. Regularly use unscented moisturizers to soothe and hydrate the affected area. Contact your doctor if the itching worsens.
AFDERM MN + CREAM is not recommended for use during pregnancy unless considered clearly necessary. Contact your doctor before applying.
AFDERM MN + CREAM should be used with caution in breastfeeding women as it is not known whether it may pass through breast milk. Contact your doctor before applying.
AFDERM MN + CREAM does not affect the ability to drive or operate any machines. Consult your doctor before using AFDERM MN + CREAM.
Do not apply AFDERM MN + CREAM if you are allergic to Miconazole, Mometasone, Nadifloxacin or any other ingredients of this medicine.
