HEPAVION SOFTGEL is a combination of Metadoxine, Silymarin and L Ornithine L Aspartate which belongs to the group of medicines called Antioxidants, Flavonolignans and Amino acid salts respectively. It is used as supportive treatment in chronic liver disease and cirrhosis.
Chronic liver disease (CLD) is a continuous process of inflammation, destruction and regeneration of functional liver cells, which leads to cirrhosis (disruption of liver structure and function). Symptoms include fluid build-up in the belly, itching, yellow skin and eyes, muscle loss, loss of appetite, easy bruising, low energy and weakness, weight loss and confusion.
Consult your doctor before giving HEPAVION SOFTGEL to your child. Before taking HEPAVION SOFTGEL, inform your doctor if you have any pre-existing conditions or allergies. HEPAVION SOFTGEL is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women unless considered clearly necessary by your doctor.
The most common side effects of taking HEPAVION SOFTGEL are gastrointestinal disturbances (such as indigestion, diarrhoea), nausea and headache. Consult your doctor if any of the side effects worsen.
HEPAVION SOFTGEL improves liver function where metadoxine exerts a protective effect against the damage done by free radicals, silymarin acts as a rejuvenating agent which helps in regenerating the damaged liver cells and in liver decongestion and L-Ornithine L-Aspartate converts ammonia to urea, leading to reduced burden of the liver and thus increases functional capacity of the liver.
Take HEPAVION SOFTGEL as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the appropriate dose and duration for you based upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
Nausea:
Take HEPAVION SOFTGEL with or just after meals. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oily, fried or spicy foods. Do not lie down or sleep immediately after eating. If you still feel nauseous, consult your doctor.
Headache:
Drink plenty of water and get adequate rest. Try to be relaxed and stress free. Check with your doctor before taking any medicine for headache. If headache does not get better, consult your doctor.
Skin itching:
Avoid hot showers because hot water can irritate your skin further. Do not scratch the affected area. Avoid sun exposure or UV rays as it may sensitize your skin. Use sunscreen and protective clothing when going outdoor. Regularly moisturize your skin after consulting the doctor. Consult your doctor if the symptom does not improve.
HEPAVION SOFTGEL is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless considered clearly necessary. Consult your doctor before taking it.
HEPAVION SOFTGEL is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless considered clearly necessary. Consult your doctor before taking it.
