ALKARATE LIQUID contains Disodium Hydrogen Citrate which belongs to the group of medicines called Urinary Alkalizers. It is used to treat the symptoms of urinary tract infections (such as low urine output, painful urination or burning sensation while passing urine) when used in combination with antibiotics.
It works by increasing your blood pH and by making your urine less acidic. Therefore, it helps in treating metabolic acidosis (low pH in blood) and hyperuricemia (high blood uric acid levels) and prevent the incidence of gout and/or kidney stones caused due to high blood uric acid levels.
It corrects dehydration by replacing the lost electrolytes in the body. It also helps in managing the symptoms of inflammation in the urinary tract such as pyelitis, cystitis, urethritis and urolithiasis. ALKARATE LIQUID must be dissolved in water before consumption.
Before taking ALKARATE LIQUID inform your doctor if you have any liver, kidney or heart problems. You must also inform your doctor if you have Addison’s disease, fluid retention in your body parts or lungs, hypertension or heat cramps as a precaution.
Do not take ALKARATE LIQUID without consulting your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. The most common side effects of taking ALKARATE LIQUID are increased urination, diarrhea and flatulence. Consult your doctor if any of these side effects troubles you.
