APALE TABLET contains Ferrous ascorbate and Folic acid which belongs to the group of medicines called Hematinics. It is used to treat and prevent nutritional deficiency anaemia associated with iron and folic acid.
APALE TABLET can also be used to treat and prevent anaemia occurring during pregnancy and breast feeding. Anemia is when your body can't produce enough of haemoglobin (a substance in red blood cells that enables them to carry oxygen), due to insufficient iron.
APALE TABLET is not recommended to be taken if you have any kidney or liver diseases, porphyria cutanea tarda, conditions affecting iron level of your body, cobalamin deficiency, any malignant disease, inflammatory bowel disease, galactose intolerance, lapp lactase deficiency or glucose - galactose malabsorption.
It is not recommended to take APALE TABLET if you are receiving frequent blood transfusions and parenteral iron therapy. APALE TABLET is safe to take in pregnancy and breastfeeding, however, consult your doctor before taking it. Safety and efficacy of APALE TABLET in children have not been established.
The most common side effects of taking APALE TABLET are nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhoea and dark stools. It is recommended to consult the doctor if any of the symptoms worsen or persist for longer duration.
Treats and prevents anaemia occurring:
APALE TABLET helps increase haemoglobin levels where Ferrous ascorbate facilitates oxygen delivery and consumption, promotes cell growth and multiplication and thus boosts red blood cells and haemoglobin synthesis and Folic acid plays an essential role in the production of red blood cells (which transport oxygen throughout the body) and during pregnancy, owing to its function in the development of the brain and spinal cord of the developing baby.
Take APALE TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow it with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of APALE TABLET treatment depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
Nausea:
Take APALE TABLET with or just after meals. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oily or spicy foods. If symptom persists, contact your doctor.

Diarrhea:
Drink lots of liquids like water or fruit juice to maintain hydration. Call your doctor before taking any medicine for diarrhea. If diarrhea persists, contact your doctor.

Consume enough fiber rich foods like fresh fruits, vegetables, cereals and drink ample amount of water. Exercise more regularly. If symptom persists, contact your doctor.
Loss appetite:
Eat when you are hungry. Eat smaller meals more often than usual. Snack only when you're hungry. Eat a protein-rich or other healthy snack such as dried fruit and nuts. If appetite does not get better, contact your doctor.
