INTRODUCTION

ALDACTONE 25MG TABLET contains Spironolactone which belongs to the group of medicines called Diuretics. It is used to treat fluid accumulation in the tissues due to heart disorders and in the abdominal cavity, severe heart failure (NYHA III-IV), and certain kidney disorders.

ALDACTONE 25MG TABLET is also used to treat high blood pressure along with a salt-free diet and diuretics. It can also be used to diagnose and treat Conn’s disease (a disorder in which excess levels of aldosterone is produced in the adrenal cortex).

Fluid regularly drains into body tissues from the blood. When this fluid isn’t removed from the tissue, fluid retention (edema) occurs, causing symptoms like swelling and aching of affected body parts such as feet, ankles, or hands.

Prior to the treatment, your doctor may want you to take several tests to understand your existing condition.

Avoid consumption of alcohol during treatment with ALDACTONE 25MG TABLET. Before taking ALDACTONE 25MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you have any liver, heart, or kidney problems, or low sodium and high potassium levels.

ALDACTONE 25MG TABLET is not recommended for use among pregnant women. It should be used in breastfeeding women only if specifically directed by your doctor, therefore consult your doctor before taking it.

ALDACTONE 25MG TABLET is not recommended for use in children with moderate to severe kidney disease. It should be used with caution in elderly patients especially in patients having kidney diseases. Consult with your doctor.

The most common side effects of taking ALDACTONE 25MG TABLET are enlarged breasts in men, headache, indigestion, diarrhea, extreme tiredness, and drowsiness. Contact your doctor if any of the symptoms worsen.
