ADILIP 45MG contains Choline Fenofibrate which belongs to the group of medicines called Antilipemic agents. It is used as an adjunct to diet in adult patients to treat severe hypertriglyceridemia (condition marked by high triglyceride levels in blood), primary hypercholesterolaemia (condition marked by high cholesterol levels in blood) or mixed dyslipidaemia (condition marked by high triglyceride and cholesterol levels in blood).
ADILIP 45MG is not recommended for use if you are allergic to fenofibric acid/fenofibrate. It is also not recommended for use if you have active liver diseases such as primary biliary cirrhosis, unexplained persistent liver function abnormalities, severe renal impairment, pre-existing gallbladder disease, and in patients who are on dialysis. It should be used with caution in patients with renal failure or coronary heart disease. It should be used with caution in pregnant women only if clearly advised by the doctor and it is not recommended to be used in breastfeeding women.
ADILIP 45MG is not recommended for use in children and adolescents (below 18 years of age) and should be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 65 years and above). The most common side effects associated with the use of ADILIP 45MG are abdominal pain, back pain, headache, nausea, constipation, itchy welts and diarrhoea. Consult your doctor if any of the symptom worsens.
It is used as an adjunct to diet in adult patients to treat:
ADILIP 45MG works by activating a particular receptor which stimulates an enzyme that breaks down fats (lipids and cholesterol) and inhibits the production of certain agents that causes blockade of this enzyme activity thereby increasing fat breakdown process and causing a faster elimination from blood which results in reducing the cholesterol levels.
Take ADILIP 45MG as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
Stop taking ADILIP 45MG and contact your doctor if you experience any of the following side effects:
Headache:
Take rest and drink plenty of water. Avoid taking alcohol and skipping meals. Do not strain your eyes by watching screen for long time. Consult your doctor if the symptom does not improve.
Constipation:
Try to eat more high-fibre foods such as fresh fruit, vegetables, cereals, and drink plenty of water. Try doing exercise regularly (going for a daily walk or run). If this does not help, inform your doctor for receiving alternate treatment for constipation.
Nausea:
Try to take ADILIP 45MG with or just after a meal or a snack. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oily, fried or spicy foods. Do not lie down or sleep immediately after eating. Consult your doctor if the symptom gets worse.
Stomach pain:
Try to take rest and relax. Eat and drink slowly or try to have smaller and frequent meals. Keep a heat pad on your stomach. If the symptom does not improve, contact your doctor.
Dizziness:
Lie down until the dizziness passes and get up slowly. Do not bend down suddenly. Get a lot of rest. Walk slowly and carefully. Take plenty of fluids. Avoid drinking coffee, alcohol, or smoking. Consult your doctor if the condition persists for long or gets worsened.
Diarrhoea:
Drink lot of fluids, such as water to keep yourself hydrated. Try to avoid taking any medicine on your own to treat diarrhoea and consult your doctor if the symptom gets worse.
ADILIP 45MG should be used with caution in pregnant women only if it is considered clearly necessary. Consult your doctor before taking ADILIP 45MG.
ADILIP 45MG is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor taking ADILIP 45MG.
ADILIP 45MG is not recommended for use in patients with severe renal impairment and in patients undergoing dialysis. It should be used with caution in patients with mild to moderate renal insufficiency. Consult your doctor before taking ADILIP 45MG.
ADILIP 45MG is not recommended for use in patients with active liver diseases such as primary biliary cirrhosis (disease in which bile ducts get destroyed slowly) and unexplained persistent liver function abnormalities. Consult your doctor before taking.
