HEFCARD 100 TABLET is a combination of Sacubitril and Valsartan which belongs to the group of medicines called Angiotensin receptor neprilysin inhibitors. HEFCARD 100 TABLET is indicated to reduce the risk of cardiovascular death and hospitalization for heart failure in patients with chronic heart failure (New York Heart Association Class II-IV) and reduced ejection fraction.
Heart failure occurs when the heart is weak and cannot pump enough blood to the lungs and to the rest of the body and it is characterized by symptoms such as breathlessness, fatigue, tiredness and ankle swelling. Before taking HEFCARD 100 TABLET inform your doctor if you have liver, kidney or heart problems.
HEFCARD 100 TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant and breast-feeding women. It is not suitable for use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age and it should be used with caution in elderly patients (65 years of age and above).
Before taking HEFCARD 100 TABLET inform your doctor about previous allergy and medication history to prevent any serious effect.
The most common side effects of taking HEFCARD 100 TABLET are dizziness, cough, headache, tiredness, nausea and weakness. Consult your doctor if any of the side effects worsen.
HEFCARD 100 TABLET helps to treat long-term heart failure, where sacubitril works by relaxing and widening the blood vessels and makes it easier for the heart to pump blood throughout the body and valsartan works by relaxing the blood vessels by blocking a substance called angiotensin-II (causing blood vessels to tighten) which is produced in the body and thus lowers the blood pressure.
Take HEFCARD 100 TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow HEFCARD 100 TABLET with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
Stop taking HEFCARD 100 TABLET and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
Drink lot of fluids such as water or fruit juices to keep yourself hydrated. Avoid taking any medicine on your own for treating diarrhea. Consult your doctor if the symptom did not improve.
Rest and relax. Drink plenty of fluids such as water or electrolytes. Apply a pain-relieving balm on the forehead if required. Do not consume too much of alcohol. Consult your doctor if the symptom did not improve.
Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oily, fried and spicy foods. Do not perform any strenuous activities immediately after eating. Consult your doctor if the symptom did not improve.
Drink plenty of fluids and eat balanced diet and frequent meals. Do regular minimal exercise and follow regular sleep schedule. Consult your doctor if your symptom did not improve.
HEFCARD 100 TABLET is not recommended for use in early pregnancy and must not be used in pregnant women when more than 3 months pregnant, as it may cause serious harm to the baby. Consult your doctor before taking HEFCARD 100 TABLET if you think you may be pregnant.
HEFCARD 100 TABLET is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before taking HEFCARD 100 TABLET if you are breast-feeding or about to start breast-feeding.
Avoid driving or handling any machines while taking HEFCARD 100 TABLET because it may cause dizziness or tiredness.
HEFCARD 100 TABLET should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease and with narrowed kidney artery. Consult your doctor before taking HEFCARD 100 TABLET.
HEFCARD 100 TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with severe liver disease and it should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Consult your doctor before taking HEFCARD 100 TABLET.
Do not take HEFCARD 100 TABLET if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to Sacubitril and Valsartan.
