CREMA ANO CREAM is a combination of Lignocaine and Nifedipine which belongs to the group of medicines called Local anaesthetics, Antibiotics and Antacids. It is used in the treatment of bedsores (injuries that happen on areas of the skin under pressure for a prolonged time), haemorrhoids (swollen and inflamed veins in the anus that cause discomfort, bleeding and itching) and fistulae (infected tunnel between the skin and the anus).
It also helps to treat pain, swelling and discharge of blood or pus from the anus, known as anal fissures (a small cut or tear in the delicate lining of the anus that occurs when passing hard or large stools, causing pain and bleeding during bowel movements along with increased frequency).
While using CREMA ANO CREAM, avoid contact with the eyes. If contact occurs, immediately wash it out with water or saline. Before using CREMA ANO CREAM, inform your doctor if you have irritated skin. CREMA ANO CREAM should be used with caution in pregnant women, breastfeeding women, children, adolescents (below 18 years of age) and elderly patients.
The common side effects of CREMA ANO CREAM are dry skin, redness, itching, skin rash, pain, a burning sensation and the appearance of red, itchy welts on the skin surface. If any of these symptoms become worse, contact your doctor for advice.
CREMA ANO CREAM is combination of Lignocaine that causes temporary loss of sensation in the applied area, Metronidazole that exhibits its anti-inflammatory properties to promote wound healing and Sucralfate that protects eroded areas by inducing prostaglandin production and growth factor bioavailability, leading to improved blood flow. All these together help in relieving the pain and discomfort caused by bedsores, haemorrhoids, fistulae and anal fissures.
Apply CREMA ANO CREAM as advised by your physician. It is for external use only. Wash your hands before use and if possible, use a finger covering, such as plastic wrap, cling film, a finger cot or a disposable glove, to apply for the medicine. Apply the medicine to the skin around the anus and if possible, a little inside. The correct dose and duration for you will be decided by your doctor depending on your age, body weight and disease condition.
Stop using CREMA ANO CREAM and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
Itching:
Wash the area around the anus carefully daily with plain water or mild soap to keep it clean and dry. Avoid irritants and do not wear tight underwear. If there is no improvement, please consult your doctor for advice.
CREMA ANO CREAM is not recommended for use in pregnant women, unless considered necessary. Consult your doctor for advice.
CREMA ANO CREAM should be used with caution in breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor for advice.
