ENDEAVOUR's FURIC 80MG TABLET contains Febuxostat, which belongs to a group of medicines called Antigout agents. It is used in the treatment of gout (common and complex form of arthritis that occurs when too much uric acid crystallises and deposits in the joints, resulting in sudden, severe attacks of pain, swelling, redness and tenderness in one or more joints, most often in the big toe). It is also used to prevent accumulation of high blood levels of uric acid in the blood.
Before taking ENDEAVOUR's FURIC 80MG TABLET inform your doctor if you have any liver, kidney, heart, thyroid problems and undergoing treatment for Lesch-Nyhan syndrome. ENDEAVOUR's FURIC 80MG TABLET is not recommended for use by pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, children, and adolescents. ENDEAVOUR's FURIC 80MG TABLET should be used with caution by elderly patients.
The common side effects of taking ENDEAVOUR's FURIC 80MG TABLET are abnormal liver test results, diarrhoea, headache, rash, nausea, increase in gout symptoms, localized swelling due to retention of fluids in tissues (oedema). Consult your doctor immediately if any of your symptoms gets worse.
ENDEAVOUR's FURIC 80MG TABLET works by blocking the action of enzyme called xanthine oxidase, which is involved in the process of converting hypoxanthine into uric acid (purine metabolism pathway). This type of action reduces high uric acid level in gout and blood cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment.
Take ENDEAVOUR's FURIC 80MG TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow ENDEAVOUR's FURIC 80MG TABLET with a glass of water and do not chew or crush the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight.
Stop taking ENDEAVOUR's FURIC 80MG TABLET and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
Nausea or vomiting:
Take ENDEAVOUR's FURIC 80MG TABLET with or just after meals. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oil rich or spicy foods. If the symptom does not improve, contact your doctor immediately.
Flatulence:
Eat smaller and more frequent meals. Eat and drink slowly, and exercise regularly. If the symptom does not improve, contact your doctor immediately.
Constipation:
Eat plenty of fiber rich foods such as fresh fruits, vegetables, and cereals and drink plenty of water. Exercise more regularly. If the symptom does not improve, contact your doctor immediately.
Diarrhoea:
Drink lots of fluids, such as water or fruit juice, to keep yourself hydrated. Do not consume any medicine on your own without consulting your doctor.
Stomach pain:
Try to rest and relax. Eat and drink slowly or try to have smaller and more frequent meals. Keep a heating pad on your stomach. If the symptom does not improve, contact your doctor immediately.
ENDEAVOUR's FURIC 80MG TABLET is generally not recommended for use by pregnant women. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.
ENDEAVOUR's FURIC 80MG TABLET is generally not recommended for use by breastfeeding women as it may pass through the breast milk. Consult your doctor before taking it.
Do not drive or operate any machines if you feel dizzy, sleepy, blurred vision and numbness or tingling sensation after taking ENDEAVOUR's FURIC 80MG TABLET.
ENDEAVOUR's FURIC 80MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients with having or have had kidney disease. Consult your doctor for advice before taking ENDEAVOUR's FURIC 80MG TABLET.
ENDEAVOUR's FURIC 80MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients who have or had liver disease or liver function test abnormalities. Consult your doctor for advice before taking ENDEAVOUR's FURIC 80MG TABLET.
ENDEAVOUR's FURIC 80MG TABLET is not recommended for use if you are allergic to febuxostat. It should also be used with caution in patients having history of serious allergic reaction to Allopurinol.
ENDEAVOUR's FURIC 80MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients having or have had heart failure or heart problems or stroke. Consult your doctor for advice before taking ENDEAVOUR's FURIC 80MG TABLET.
