INTRODUCTION

B2DOC EYE DROPS is a combination of Brimonidine and Brinzolamide which belongs to the group of medicines called Ophthalmic anti-glaucoma agents. It is used in adults to treat ocular hypertension and glaucoma (increased pressure within the eyes). It is typically used in patients who are not responding well to therapy with single agents.

B2DOC EYE DROPS is for ophthalmic use only. Instil few drops of this medicine into the affected eye(s). Do not touch the tip of the dropper with your eye or with other body surface to avoid contamination. If you wear soft contact lenses, remove the lens before using B2DOC EYE DROPS and wait for at least 15 minutes before reinsertion.

Before using B2DOC EYE DROPS inform your doctor if you have any liver, kidney or heart problems. You must also inform your doctor if you have low or high blood pressure, narrow-angle glaucoma, dry eyes, depression or poor blood circulation in your body as a precaution.

Consult your doctor before using B2DOC EYE DROPS if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. The most common side effects of using B2DOC EYE DROPS are eye pain, redness, discomfort, irritation, itching or inflammation, blurred vision and bad taste. Consult your doctor if they trouble you.

HOW B2DOC EYE DROPS WORKS

B2DOC EYE DROPS works by decreasing the production of excessive eye fluids (aqueous humour) while simultaneously increasing their drainage. As a result, it reduces strain on the eyes which therefore reduces elevated intraocular pressure.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Use B2DOC EYE DROPS as advised by your doctor. It is for ophthalmic use only. Wash your hands before use. Instil few drops of B2DOC EYE DROPS into the affected eye. Close your eyes and press the corner of your eye with your finger for a minute.

Do not touch the tip of the dropper with your eye or with other body surface to avoid contamination. Apply applying B2DOC EYE DROPS, leave a time gap of at least 5 minutes before applying other eye drops or ointment. If you wear soft contact lenses, remove the lens before applying B2DOC EYE DROPS and wait for at least 15 minutes before reinsertion.

Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition. Do not stop using B2DOC EYE DROPS without consulting your doctor, as the pressure within the eye may raise once again.

COMMON

RARE

Stop using B2DOC EYE DROPS and contact your immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:

  • pale skin, sleepiness, low body temperature and breathing difficulties
  • severe allergic reactions (such as skin rash, swelling of the eye, eyelids, face, lips, tongue, hands or throat leading to difficulty in breathing)

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS

Eye redness, itching or inflammation:

Wash your eyes with plain cold water. Place an ice pack on your eye to ease the irritation. Avoid straining your eyes by looking at mobile phones, laptops, or television. Wear protective eyeglasses while going outdoors.

Blurred vision:

Close your eyes and relax. Do not strain your eyes by looking at mobile phones, laptops, or television. Avoid driving or operating any heavy tools or machines while your vision is blur. Consult your doctor if you experience blurred vision for a prolonged period.

Dizziness:

Try to rest and relax. Get enough sleep. Avoid driving or operating any tools or machines while you are feeling dizzy. Do not consume too much of alcohol, as it can aggravate your dizziness. Consult your doctor if the symptom did not improve.

WARNING & PRECAUTIONS

PREGNANCY

B2DOC EYE DROPS is generally not recommended for use in pregnant women unless considered necessary by the physician. Therefore, consult your doctor before using it. Women of childbearing age should use proper contraceptive method to avoid pregnancy while undergoing therapy with B2DOC EYE DROPS.

BREASTFEEDING

B2DOC EYE DROPS is generally not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless considered necessary by the physician. Therefore, consult your doctor before using it.

DRIVING AND USING MACHINES

Do not drive or operate any heavy tools or machines if you experience blurred vision, drowsiness or tiredness after using B2DOC EYE DROPS.

ALCOHOL

Avoid the consumption of alcohol while using B2DOC EYE DROPS as it may increase the risk of side effects.

KIDNEY

B2DOC EYE DROPS is not recommended for use in patients with severe kidney problems. Therefore, consult your doctor before using it.

LIVER

B2DOC EYE DROPS should be used with caution in patients with liver problems. Therefore, consult your doctor before using it.

ALLERGY

Talk to your doctor if you are allergic to Brimonidine, Brinzolamide, sulphonamides (such as glipizide, gliclazide) or diuretics (such as furosemide).

HEART DISEASE

B2DOC EYE DROPS should be used with caution in patients with heart diseases (such as coronary heart disease or heart failure). Therefore, consult your doctor before using it.

OTHERS

B2DOC EYE DROPS is not recommended for use if you:

  • have hyperchloremic acidosis (a condition where there is too much of acidity in blood)

Before using B2DOC EYE DROPS, inform your doctor if you:

  • have dry eyes or problems in your cornea
  • have narrow angle glaucoma (a type of rapid increase in pressure within the eye)
  • have high or low blood pressure
  • have depression
  • have poor blood circulation in the body (such as Raynaud’s disease)
  • have reduced blood supply to the brain or reduced mental capacity
  • wear soft contact lenses

Use in pediatrics:

B2DOC EYE DROPS is generally not recommended for use in children and adolescents (aged below 18 years). Therefore, consult your doctor before using it.

Use in geriatrics:

B2DOC EYE DROPS should be used with caution in elderly patients. Therefore, consult your doctor before using it.

INTERACTIONS

A. Drug-Drug interactions:

Before using B2DOC EYE DROPS, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines such as:

  • medicines used to treat depression such as (Ex. citalopram, escitalopram, fluoxetine, sertraline, amitriptyline, nortriptyline, moclobemide, selegiline, phenelzine, isocarboxazid, clomipramine, mianserin, venlafaxine and duloxetine)
  • medicines used to induce sleep (Ex. alprazolam, midazolam, phenobarbital)
  • medicines used to treat mental illness (Ex. chlorpromazine, methylphenidate, reserpine)
  • medicines used to lower blood pressure (Ex. enalapril, ramipril)
  • digoxin (a medicine used to treat irregular heartbeat)
  • anaesthetics (used to induce numbness) Ex. lidocaine
  • other carbonic anhydrase inhibitors (used to treat glaucoma) Ex. acetazolamide and dorzolamide
  • medicines used to treat viral infections (such as ritonavir, nelfinavir, atazanavir)
  • medicines used to treat fungal infections (such as ketoconazole, fluconazole, itraconazole)
  • medicines used to treat bacterial infections (such as amoxicillin, cefixime, azithromycin, clarithromycin)

Overdosage:

If you or anyone else accidentally used more B2DOC EYE DROPS, rinse your eye with warm water. If still irritation persists, consult your doctor.

If you or anyone else accidentally swallowed this medicine, contact your doctor immediately. Symptoms of overdose might include slow heartbeat, low or high blood pressure, difficulty in breathing and confusion or nerve problems.
