CINTAPRO 1MG TABLET contains Cinitapride which belongs to the group of medicines called Gastro-prokinetic agents. CINTAPRO 1MG TABLET is used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease and functional gastrointestinal motility disorders (disease marked by persistent and recurring gastrointestinal symptoms) in affected individuals.
CINTAPRO 1MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients allergic to Cinitapride. It is also not recommended for use in patients with gastrointestinal bleeding/obstruction/perforation and in patients with a history of neuroleptic-induced tardive dyskinesia (condition marked by involuntary movements of head, neck, trunk or limbs).
Before taking CINTAPRO 1MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you have intolerance to certain sugars (such as lactose), liver disease (such as primary/secondary liver tumors, hepatocellular carcinoma) and/or kidney disease (such as acute renal injury/failure).
CINTAPRO 1MG TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women. It is also not recommended for use in children & adolescents (aged below 18 years) and is advised to be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 65 years/above) after consulting the doctor.
The most common side effects of taking CINTAPRO 1MG TABLET are abdominal discomfort, nausea and/or diarrhea. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms worsen.
CINTAPRO 1MG TABLET works by increasing the gastrointestinal movement by enhancing the frequency and strength of stomach muscle contractions which leads to increased gastric motility & emptying thus improving gastro-duodenal coordination and preventing the occurrence of gastroesophageal reflux disease in affected individuals.
Take CINTAPRO 1MG TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
Nausea and vomiting:
Try to take CINTAPRO 1MG TABLET with or just after a meal or a snack. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating rich or spicy food. Consult your doctor if symptom gets worse.
Diarrhea:
Drink plenty of water and stay hydrated. Try to avoid taking any medicine on your own to treat diarrhea. Consult your doctor and inform them if the symptom gets worse.
