INTRODUCTION

AMFY V GEL(TOPICAL) contains Amphotericin B which belongs to the group of medicines called Anti-fungal agents. AMFY V GEL(TOPICAL) is used to treat acute, chronic & recurrent fungal infections, vaginal candidiasis, diaper rash, and bed sores in affected individuals.

AMFY V GEL(TOPICAL) is also used in dressing after wound debridement and burns which is also applied around tube and catheters during intubation in intensive care unit.

AMFY V GEL(TOPICAL) is not recommended for use in patients allergic to Amphotericin B. Before applying AMFY V GEL(TOPICAL), inform your doctor if you have kidney problems (such as renal impairment).

AMFY V GEL(TOPICAL) should be used with caution in pregnant and breastfeeding women. The medicine is also advised to be used with caution in children & adolescents (aged below 18 years) and in elderly patients (aged above 65 years) after consulting the doctor.

The most common side-effects of applying AMFY V GEL(TOPICAL) are ulceration and induration (thickened and hardened skin), scarring, and/or swelling at the applied site. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms worsen.

HOW AMFY V GEL(TOPICAL) WORKS

AMFY V GEL(TOPICAL) binds to ergosterol (steroid present on the cell membranes of fungi) which leads to the formation of pores and ion leakage on the cell membrane resulting in fungal cell death thus treating invasive fungal infections in affected individuals.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Always apply AMFY V GEL(TOPICAL) as directed by your physician. Clean and dry the affected area before application of AMFY V GEL(TOPICAL). It is for external use only. A thin layer of medicine has to be applied on the affected area. Treated areas need not be covered with a plaster/bandage. Wash hands before and after the application AMFY V GEL(TOPICAL). Avoid applying this medicine around your eyes, including eyelids, nose, and mouth.

ALLERGY
