INTRODUCTION

B FLOREN EYE DROP contains Besifloxacin which belongs to the group of medicines called Fluoroquinolone antibiotics. It is used in patients of age one year and older to treat bacterial conjunctivitis caused by certain susceptible bacteria.

Bacterial conjunctivitis is a type of inflammation of conjunctiva (tissue that covers the white of the eyes and inside part of the eyelids) that occurs due to direct contact with secretions from an infected individual or by contact with contaminated surfaces which is generally characterized by symptoms such as redness of the eye, purulent discharge, irritation or burning sensation, and decreased vision.

B FLOREN EYE DROP is not recommended for use if you are allergic to besifloxacin, or other quinolones (such as moxifloxacin or ciprofloxacin). Before using B FLOREN EYE DROP, inform your doctor if you wear contact lens, have hepatic or renal insufficiency. It should be used with caution in pregnant women only if clearly advised by the doctor and it is used with caution in breastfeeding women.

B FLOREN EYE DROP is recommended for use in children and adolescents (aged above 1 to 18 years). Consult ophthalmologist advice before using B FLOREN EYE DROP. The common side effects associated with the use of B FLOREN EYE DROP are redness in the eye, blurred vision, eye pain, eye irritation, eye itching, and headache. Contact your doctor if any of the symptoms worsen.

USES OF B FLOREN EYE DROP

  • Treats bacterial conjunctivitis

HOW B FLOREN EYE DROP WORKS

B FLOREN EYE DROP contains besifloxacin, a bactericidal type of antibiotic that acts against bacteria by inhibiting those bacterial enzymes which help in synthesis, replication, and repair of bacterial DNA, thereby limiting bacterial growth, multiplication, and resistance to antibiotic treatment, thus leading to its destruction and effectively works to treat bacterial conjunctivitis.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Use B FLOREN EYE DROP as advised by your physician. It is for ophthalmic use only. Invert the closed bottle (upside down) and shake well before use. Wash your hands prior to using the medicine. Avoid contaminating the applicator tip with material from the eye, fingers or other source. Remove the cap with bottle in the inverted position. Tilt head backwards, and gently squeeze bottle to instil one drop into the affected eye. Close the bottle cap and keep it safe in a place unreachable to children. Your ophthalmologist will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age and severity of the condition.
