APDROPS KT 0.4% EYE DROPS is a combination of Ketorolac and Moxifloxacin which belongs to the group of medicines called Analgesics and Antibiotics respectively. It is used to treat and prevent inflammation and infections of the eyes and ears. It is typically used in conditions which involves inflammation along with the risk of infection such as during injury or post-surgery.
APDROPS KT 0.4% EYE DROPS is for external use only. Gently instil few drops of the medicine into the affected eyes/ears. If you wear soft contact lenses, remove the lens before applying APDROPS KT 0.4% EYE DROPS and wait for at least 15 minutes before reinsertion.
During treatment with APDROPS KT 0.4% EYE DROPS, your doctor will regularly monitor your eyes for intraocular pressure, cataracts and for infections as a precaution. Before using APDROPS KT 0.4% EYE DROPS inform your doctor if you have severe viral or fungal ear/eye infections. You must also inform your doctor if you have been treated with a steroid medicine recently, or have dry eyes, diabetes, stomach ulcers or joint pain as a precaution.
Do not use APDROPS KT 0.4% EYE DROPS if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. The most common side effects of using APDROPS KT 0.4% EYE DROPS are temporary burning sensation and blurring of vision, mild eye itching, redness and irritation, dry eyes, headache and taste changes. Consult your doctor if any of these side effect worsens.
APDROPS KT 0.4% EYE DROPS contains two medicines namely, Ketorolac and Moxifloxacin. Ketorolac is a pain-relieving medication. It blocks the release of certain chemicals in the body (such as prostaglandins) that causes inflammation, redness and swelling. When applied topically on the eyes or ears, it reduces redness, soreness, pain, itching and swelling.
Moxifloxacin is an antibiotic. When applied topically on the eyes or ears, it kills the susceptible bacteria that causes infection. Collectively, this medicine reduces inflammation and infection of the eyes and ears.
Use APDROPS KT 0.4% EYE DROPS as advised by your physician. It is for topical use only.
For Eyes: Tilt your head slightly backwards and gently pull your lower eyelid. Instil few drops of this medicine into the eyes and close your eyes for 2 minutes. Repeat the same for the other eye if required. If you wear soft contact lenses, remove the lens before applying APDROPS KT 0.4% EYE DROPS and wait for at least 15 minutes before reinsertion.
For Ears: Gently instil few drops of this medicine into the ears. Repeat the same for the other ear if required.
Wash your hands before and after application. Leave a time gap of 5 minutes before applying other medicines on your eyes/ears. Do not touch the tip of the container with your eyes, eyelids, areas around your eyes, outer part of the ears or fingers, to avoid contamination.
Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending upon your age, body weight and health condition. If there is no improvement in your condition even after using this medicine for 7 days, consult your doctor for advice.
Stop using APDROPS KT 0.4% EYE DROPS and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
Burning or stinging of eyes:
Wash your eyes with plain cold water. Place an ice pack on your eye to ease the irritation. Avoid straining your eyes by looking at mobile phones, laptops or television. Wear protective eyeglasses while going outdoors.
Headache:
Rest and relax. Keep yourself hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids such as water or electrolytes. Applying a pain-relieving balm on your forehead can be beneficial. Do not consume excessive alcohol, as it could aggravate your headache. Consult your doctor if your headache worsens.
Blurred vision:
Close your eyes and relax. Do not strain your eyes by looking at mobile phones, laptops, or television. Avoid driving or operating any heavy tools or machines while your vision is blur. Consult your doctor if you experience blurred vision for a prolonged period.
APDROPS KT 0.4% EYE DROPS is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless considered necessary by the physician. Therefore, consult your doctor before using it.
APDROPS KT 0.4% EYE DROPS is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless considered necessary by the physician. Therefore, consult your doctor before using it.
Do not drive or operate any heavy tools or machinery if you experience blurred vision or light-headedness after using APDROPS KT 0.4% EYE DROPS.
Do not use APDROPS KT 0.4% EYE DROPS if you are allergic to Ketorolac, Moxifloxacin or to any other quinolone antibiotics (such as ciprofloxacin) or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (such as aspirin).
APDROPS KT 0.4% EYE DROPS should be used with caution in patients who previously developed asthma symptoms while taking an analgesic medicine. Therefore, inform your doctor before taking it.

APDROPS KT 0.4% EYE DROPS is not recommended for use in children and adolescents (aged below 18 years) unless prescribed by a physician. Therefore, consult your doctor before administration.

APDROPS KT 0.4% EYE DROPS should be used with caution in elderly patients. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.

Before using APDROPS KT 0.4% EYE DROPS, inform your doctor if you are taking any of other prescription and non-prescription medications as a precaution.
Overdosage:
If you or anyone else accidentally used excessive amount of this medicine, rinse your eyes or ears with warm water. If still irritation persists, consult your doctor for advice. If you or anyone else accidentally swallowed this medicine, consult your doctor immediately.
