6F1C 50 TABLET contains Sitagliptin which belongs to the group of medicines called Anti-diabetic drugs. 6F1C 50 TABLET is used in adults to manage type 2 diabetes alone or along with other anti-diabetic medicines, diet and exercise.
Type 2 diabetes is a condition in which your body does not make enough insulin (a hormone that helps control your blood sugar levels) or the insulin that is produced does not work well. When this happens, glucose levels rise in the blood and can lead to serious medical problems like heart, or kidney disease and blindness. It can show symptoms like increased thirst, urination and hunger, blurry vision, numbness in hands or feet or tiredness.
Before taking 6F1C 50 TABLET, inform your doctor if you have any disease of the pancreas, gallstones, alcohol dependence, very high levels of fat in your blood, type 1 diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis, or any kidney or heart problems. 6F1C 50 TABLET is not recommended for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding, therefore consult your doctor before taking it.
6F1C 50 TABLET is not recommended for use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age. The most common side effects of taking 6F1C 50 TABLET are low blood sugar, headache, upper respiratory infection, stuffy or runny nose, sore throat, osteoarthritis, and arm or leg pain. Contact your doctor if any of the symptoms worsen.
6F1C 50 TABLET works by slowing down the inactivation of gut hormones released after eating the meals. This kind of action increases the secretion of insulin and decrease glucagon release (hormone which raises blood glucose level), resulting in an overall increase in blood glucose control.
Take 6F1C 50 TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
Stop taking 6F1C 50 TABLET and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:

A: Heart failure is seen in patients during management with 6F1C 50 TABLET. You are at greater risk of heart failure if you previously had any heart disease like heart failure or kidney disease. Symptoms include increased breathlessness or trouble breathing especially when you lie down, swelling or fluid retention especially in the feet, ankles or legs, an unusually rapid increase in weight, unusual tiredness. You must talk to your doctor immediately or go to the nearest hospital if this happens to you.
Q: Can 6F1C 50 TABLET be used in infants?
A: No, 6F1C 50 TABLET is used for adults and not recommended for children and adolescents below 18 years of age, it is not effective in children and adolescents between the ages of 10 and 17 years. Safety and effectiveness are not known when used in children aged less than 10 years. Your doctor will decide the correct dose or select a suitable alternative therapy for your child.

A: Yes, 6F1C 50 TABLET may cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar levels). In such case, have a fruit juice, glucose tablets or gel, soft drinks, honey or sugary candy.
