ALEX PINEAPPLE FLAVOUR DROPS is a combination of Phenylephrine and Chlorpheniramine which belongs to the group of medicines called Nasal decongestants and Antihistamines respectively. It is used to relieve nasal and sinus congestion, allergic symptoms of the nose or throat due to upper respiratory tract allergies, sinus pain and headache.
Also, it is used adjunctly with antibacterials to treat sinusitis (inflammation of the tissue lining the sinuses), tonsillitis (inflammation of the tonsils) and otitis media (middle ear infection).
Before giving ALEX PINEAPPLE FLAVOUR DROPS to your child, inform child’s doctor if your child has kidney, liver or heart problems, diabetes, fits or severely raised blood pressure.
ALEX PINEAPPLE FLAVOUR DROPS is not recommended for use in pregnant or breast-feeding women and elderly patients as it is used only in children.
The most common side effects of ALEX PINEAPPLE FLAVOUR DROPS are nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, dizziness and tiredness. Consult your child’s doctor if any of the side effects worsen.
ALEX PINEAPPLE FLAVOUR DROPS relieves cold symptoms where phenylephrine decreases nasal congestion by acting on α1-adrenergic receptors in the small vessels of the nasal mucosa to produce constriction, resulting in decreased swelling and increased drainage of the sinus cavities and chlorpheniramine binds to the histamine H1 receptor and blocks its action, resulting in temporary relief of the negative symptoms (runny nose, sneezing, watery and itchy eyes ) brought on by histamine .
Give ALEX PINEAPPLE FLAVOUR DROPS to your child as advised by the physician. Shake well before use. Use a measuring cup to properly measure the dose.
