INTRODUCTION

NEWBONA JELLY SACHET contains Alendronic acid , which belongs to the group of medicines called Bisphosphonates. It is used to manage osteoporosis (weak or brittle bones) in postmenopausal women.

It helps to improve bone mass density in patients with weak bones and can also be used to manage osteoporosis caused by excessive use of corticosteroids (such as prednisone). It also helps in the management of Paget’s disease (abnormal bone growth due to disturbances in the normal span of bone cells).

Alendronic acid inhibits bone loss and helps in building bone mass and density. It works by attaching itself to the bone surface and then stopping the action of certain bone cells that destroy the bone mass. It also stabilizes the replacement of new bone tissue growth and stops abnormal bone growth.

Take NEWBONA JELLY SACHET on an empty stomach. Do not lie down immediately after taking NEWBONA JELLY SACHET. It is necessary to maintain good oral hygiene while undergoing management with NEWBONA JELLY SACHET. Therefore, routinely undergo dental check-ups to avoid unwanted oral problems. You should also inform your doctor immediately if you experience any oral problems such as tooth pain, swelling, or loosening after taking NEWBONA JELLY SACHET.

Before taking NEWBONA JELLY SACHET, inform your doctor if you have any problems with your kidneys or stomach. You must also inform your doctor if you are scheduled for any oral treatment or dental surgery before taking NEWBONA JELLY SACHET as a precaution. Do not take NEWBONA JELLY SACHET if you are pregnant or breastfeeding without consulting your doctor.

NEWBONA JELLY SACHET is not recommended for use in patients having problems in their food pipe (esophagus). It is also not suitable for use by patients who are unable to sit or stand upright for at least 30 minutes straight.

The most common side effects of taking NEWBONA JELLY SACHET are headache, dizziness, stomach pain, bloating, indigestion, diarrhea, constipation, and acid reflux. Consult your doctor if any of these side effects worsen.

USES OF NEWBONA JELLY SACHET

  • To manage osteoporosis (caused by low bone mass, menopause, or corticosteroid use)
  • To manage Paget’s disease

HOW NEWBONA JELLY SACHET WORKS

NEWBONA JELLY SACHET inhibits bone loss and helps in building bone mass and density. It contains alendronic acid, which acts by attaching itself to the bone surface and stopping the actions of certain bone cells (osteoclasts) that destroy the bone mass. It also stops abnormal bone growth and stabilizes the replacement of old bone tissues with new ones. As a result, it improves bone mass, makes the bone stronger, and prevents the risk of fracture.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Take NEWBONA JELLY SACHET as advised by your physician. Place the medicine beneath the tongue, and do not swallow until it dissolves. Take NEWBONA JELLY SACHET on an empty stomach or for at least 30 minutes before taking any food, drink, or medicine. Stay upright (i.e., sitting, standing, or walking) for at least 30 minutes after taking NEWBONA JELLY SACHET. Do not lie down immediately. You must sit or stand upright until you eat the first meal of the day. This may help in reducing the changes in medicines coming back to the oesophagus.

Avoid consuming tea, coffee, mineral water, or juice along with NEWBONA JELLY SACHET. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending on your age, body weight, and health condition. You may also be prescribed vitamin D or calcium supplements along with NEWBONA JELLY SACHET to improve your disease condition. Do not stop taking NEWBONA JELLY SACHET without consulting your doctor, as it may reduce its effectiveness.
