ETHASYL 250MG TABLET contains Etamsylate, which belongs to the group of medicines called antihemorrhagic drugs. It helps to treat and prevent bleeding. It reduces bleeding time and blood loss. ETHASYL 250MG TABLET is used before, during and after a delicate surgical procedure involving the urinary system, eyes, nose, throat etc, to treat and prevent bleeding.
It also helps to reduce bleeding in or from the nose (epistaxis), gums (gingivitis), urine (haematuria), stools (melena), etc. ETHASYL 250MG TABLET is also recommended for use by females to treat spotting (bleeding between menstrual periods) and excessive or prolonged bleeding during menstruation (with or without an intrauterine device present).
Before starting with ETHASYL 250MG TABLET, your doctor may advise you to take tests to verify the cause of the bleeding. If you are a woman/girl suffering from excessive menstrual bleeding, your doctor will do a thorough gynaecological check-up before therapy.
ETHASYL 250MG TABLET is not recommended to take if you are suffering from porphyria (a blood disorder where the synthesis of haemoglobin is not proper). ETHASYL 250MG TABLET must be taken with caution if you are suffering from any kidney, liver or heart diseases.
ETHASYL 250MG TABLET is also generally not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women. It should be used with caution in children. Loose motion and stomach discomfort:
Keep yourself hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids and electrolytes such as ORS. Eat a healthy and balanced diet. Consult a doctor before taking any medications.
Headache:
Drink plenty of fluids and stay hydrated. Try to be tension free and relaxed. Take adequate sleep and rest. Avoid consumption of alcohol. Apply pain reliever balm if required. Consult your doctor if it is getting worsened.
