ASTHALIN RESPIRATORY SOLUTION contains Salbutamol which belongs to the group of medicines called Bronchodilators. It is used to treat severe asthma attacks. It can also be used in the management of chronic bronchospasm (long-term breathing difficulties caused due to narrowing of airways) unresponsive to conventional therapies.
Asthma is a long-term respiratory disease in which your airways become inflamed, swollen and narrowed. It also causes excessive mucous secretion in the airways which makes it difficult for the air to pass through, leading to unpleasant symptoms like wheezing, difficulty in breathing, chest pain and/or cough.
ASTHALIN RESPIRATORY SOLUTION is suitable for use both in adults and in children (aged 4 years or above). Before using ASTHALIN RESPIRATORY SOLUTION inform your doctor if you have diabetes, overactive thyroid functions, low blood potassium levels, high blood pressure or any heart problems (such as angina or irregular heartbeat) as a precaution.
ASTHALIN RESPIRATORY SOLUTION should be used in pregnant or breastfeeding women only if it is considered necessary by the physician. The most common side effects of using ASTHALIN RESPIRATORY SOLUTION are tremors, headache, mouth or throat irritation and muscle cramps. Contact your doctor if any of these side effect worsens.
It is used in adults and in children (aged 4 years or older) to treat:
ASTHALIN RESPIRATORY SOLUTION is a bronchodilator. It relaxes the smooth muscles of the airways and widens them. It also blocks the release of certain chemical messengers in the airways (such as mast cells) that cause inflammation and swelling. As a result, it reduces airway inflammation, prevents the airways from becoming narrow and allows the air to pass through more freely which makes breathing easier.
Use ASTHALIN RESPIRATORY SOLUTION medicine every day until your doctor tells you to stop. It is meant for inhalation only. Inhale the medicine only through your mouth into the lungs and not via nose. This medicine must be used along with a suitable nebulizer prescribed by your doctor.
Follow the instruction given in the enclosed leaflet.
Your doctor will decide the correct dose (number of ampoules to be used), duration of therapy and type of nebulizer device for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
During inhalation, protect your eyes and face from the mist to avoid irritation. After inhalation, rinse the nebulizer, face mask mouthpiece with warm water.
Children must use this medicine only under careful supervision of the adults.
Stop using ASTHALIN RESPIRATORY SOLUTION and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:

Avoid chilled, cooled, or sweetened food items or beverages. Drinking turmeric milk or ginger tea mixed with honey and pepper powder can ease the soreness. Consult your doctor if the symptom did not improve.
Muscle cramps:
Rub a pain-relieving balm or place a heat pack on the affected area for some time, as it could ease the pain. Do not move the affected area frequently. Try to do some simple movements every day which would improve blood circulation and reduce further incidence of muscle pain. Try to eat a well-balanced protein rich diet, so that it can help to repair and rebuild the damaged muscle. Consult your doctor if the symptom did not improve.
