ABLUNG SR TABLET contains Acebrophylline which belongs to the group of medicines called Anti-asthmatic drugs. It is used in the treatment of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It can also be used to treat inflammation of the airways (such as bronchitis)
Before taking ABLUNG SR TABLET inform your doctor if you have any liver, kidney or heart problems. You must also inform your doctor if you have fits, stomach ulcers, viral infections, hypertension or hyperthyroidism as a precaution.
ABLUNG SR TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant women. It should be used in breastfeeding women only if it is considered necessary by the physician.
The most common side effects of taking ABLUNG SR TABLET are epigastric pain, stomach discomfort, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, drowsiness, diarrhea and constipation. Consult your doctor if any of these side effects trouble you.
It is used to treat and prevent:
ABLUNG SR TABLET is a bronchodilator with anti-inflammatory properties. It blocks the release of certain chemicals (such as phosphodiesterase) in the respiratory tract that triggers airway inflammation, swelling and narrowing. As a result, it widens the airways, and reduces airway inflammation. It also loosens the mucus accumulated in the airways which allows the air to pass through more freely through the airways and makes breathing easier.
Take ABLUNG SR TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine.
Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
Do not stop taking ABLUNG SR TABLET once your symptoms subside without consulting your doctor.
Nausea and Vomiting
Take ABLUNG SR TABLET with or just after meals. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oil rich or spicy foods. Consult your doctor if your symptom worsens.
Dizziness:
Try to rest and relax. Get enough sleep. Avoid driving or operating any tools or machines completely while you are feeling dizzy. Do not consume excessive alcohol, as it could aggravate your dizziness. Consult your doctor if your dizziness worsens.
ABLUNG SR TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnancy. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.
It is not known whether ABLUNG SR TABLET can pass through breast milk. Therefore, it should be used in breastfeeding women only if considered necessary by the physician.
ABLUNG SR TABLET usually does not affect your ability to drive or operate any machinery. However, do not drive or handle any heavy tools or machines if you feel dizzy or drowsy after taking ABLUNG SR TABLET.
ABLUNG SR TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with severe kidney problems. It should be used with caution in patients with other kidney problems. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.
