FLECARITE 100MG TABLET contains Flecainide which belongs to the group of medicines called Antiarrhythmics. It is used to treat Arrhythmias (irregular heartbeat such as Wolff-Parkinson White Syndrome), tachycardia (fast heartbeat) and fibrillation (rapid contractions of the muscles in the heart).
FLECARITE 100MG TABLET is not recommended in patients with heart disease such as heart failure, heart attack, heart valve problems, cardiogenic shock, electrolyte imbalance, Brugada syndrome (heart rhythm disturbance). Consult your doctor before taking it.
FLECARITE 100MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients with severe liver disease, kidney disease, enlarged heart, chest pain (angina), severe low heartrate. Consult your doctor before taking it.
FLECARITE 100MG TABLET is generally not recommended for use in pregnant women unless considered clearly necessary. It is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before taking it.
FLECARITE 100MG TABLET is not recommended for use in children and adolescents (under 18 years of age). It should be used with caution in elderly patients. Consult your doctor before taking it.
The most common side effects of taking FLECARITE 100MG TABLET are dizziness, vertigo, lightheadedness, double vision, blurred vision and difficulty focusing. Consult your doctor if any of the symptoms worsen.
To treat:
FLECARITE 100MG TABLET works directly on the heart tissue and will slow the nerve impulses in the heart. This helps keep the heart rhythm normal and treats irregular heartbeats effectively.
Take FLECARITE 100MG TABLET as advised by your physician. It should be taken on an empty stomach or at least one hour before a meal. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine.
Stop taking FLECARITE 100MG TABLET and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
Dry mouth:
Dry mouth can be managed by chewing sugar-free gum or sucking on sugar-free hard candies to stimulate the flow of saliva. Sip water at regular intervals of time. Do not use mouthwashes that contain alcohol because they can be drying. Consult your doctor if the dry mouth gets worse.
Headache:
Rest and relax. Drink plenty of fluids such as water or ORS (Oral Rehydrating Solution) and apply a pain-relieving balm on the head if necessary. Contact your doctor if your headache did not improve.
Dizziness:
Try to rest and relax. Get enough sleep. Avoid driving or operate any machines while you are feeling dizzy. Contact your doctor if your dizziness did not improve.
Nausea and vomiting:
Take FLECARITE 100MG TABLET, with or just after a meal. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oily or spicy food. Contact your doctor if your nausea and vomiting did not improve.
Constipation:
Take fiber rich foods in your diet such as fresh fruits, vegetables and whole grain cereals and drink plenty of fluids. Exercise more regularly and stay active. Contact your doctor if your constipation persists.
Stomach pain:
Try to have smaller meals but take frequently. Keep a heat pad on your stomach. Do not self-treat and contact your doctor if the stomach pain did not improve.
Skin rash:
Avoid hot bath because hot water can irritate your skin further. Do not scratch the affected area. Use sunscreen and wear protective clothing while going outside. Use unscented moisturizers to soothe and hydrate the affected area. Contact your doctor if your rashes worsen.
Flatulence:
Eat smaller and frequent meals. Eat and drink slowly and exercise regularly. If the flatulence does not improve, contact your doctor.
Diarrhoea:
Drink lots of fluids, such as water or fruit juices to keep yourself hydrated. Do not take any medicine on your own for treating diarrhoea. Contact your doctor if your diarrhoea did not improve.
FLECARITE 100MG TABLET is generally not recommended for use in pregnant women unless considered clearly necessary. Consult your doctor before taking it.
FLECARITE 100MG TABLET is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women as it may pass through breast milk. Consult your doctor before taking it.
Do not drive or operate any machines if you have dizziness, double vision or blurred vision, lightheadedness after taking FLECARITE 100MG TABLET.
FLECARITE 100MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients with impaired kidney function and may require dose adjustment. Consult your doctor before taking it.
FLECARITE 100MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients with severe liver disease and may require dose adjustment. Consult your doctor before taking it.
Do not take FLECARITE 100MG TABLET if you are allergic to Flecainide or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
