INTRODUCTION

FIBRICOR 0.1MG INJECTION contains Ibutilide, which belongs to the group of medicines called Antiarrhythmics. FIBRICOR 0.1MG INJECTION is used for converting the abnormal heart rhythm to a normal heart rhythm in conditions such as atrial flutter (due to rapid abnormal contraction of the ventricles (lower heart chambers) of the heart) or atrial fibrillation (due to irregular electric impulses of the heart).

Atrial fibrillation and atrial flutter are conditions due to an uneven contraction of the parts in the heart, resulting in a fast and irregular heartbeat. Symptoms of the conditions may include palpitations, tiredness, shortness of breath, feeling faint or light-headed, and chest pain.

Your doctor may advise you to take relevant tests and evaluate your condition for hypokalaemia (low potassium levels) and hypomagnesemia (low magnesium levels) and stabilise their levels to reduce the potential for proarrhythmic events that may occur after receiving FIBRICOR 0.1MG INJECTION.

FIBRICOR 0.1MG INJECTION is not recommended for use in patients suffering from polymorphic ventricular tachycardia, such as torsade de pointes (the lower chambers of the heart work faster than the upper heart chambers), congenital long QT syndrome (a hereditary heart condition causing ventricular arrhythmia), sinus node disease, structural heart disease, and uncorrected electrolyte abnormalities.

FIBRICOR 0.1MG INJECTION should be used with caution in patients with QT prolongation, a family history of QT prolongation, recent myocardial infarction, bradycardia (slow heart rate), congestive heart failure or low ejection fraction, and heart block.

FIBRICOR 0.1MG INJECTION is not recommended for use and should be used with caution in pregnant women, only if recommended by your doctor, as it may cause harm to the unborn as its safety and risk are not known. [GBN] is not recommended for use in breastfeeding mothers or children less than 18 years of age, as its safety and risks have not been established. In elderly patients over the age of 65, FIBRICOR 0.1MG INJECTION should be used with caution.

The most common side effects of receiving FIBRICOR 0.1MG INJECTION may include headache, low blood pressure and bradycardia (slow heart rate). Contact your physician if any of the symptoms get worse.
