SATROGYL 300MG TABLET contains Satranidazole which belongs to the group of medicines called Antiamoebics. It is used to treat amoebic liver abscess which is a type of liver infection caused by Entamoeba histolytica (parasite) in affected individuals.
SATROGYL 300MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients allergic to Satranidazole, Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking the medicine since it may cause nausea, vomiting, flushing, and/or dizziness.
SATROGYL 300MG TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women. It should be used with caution in children and adolescents (aged below 18 years) and is advised to be used with caution in elderly patients after consulting the doctor.
The most common side effects of taking SATROGYL 300MG TABLET are abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and/or headache. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms worsens.
SATROGYL 300MG TABLET works by diffusing into protozoal cell which leads to DNA helix destabilization and strand breakage thus leading to destruction of protozoal cell and treating amoebic liver abscess in affected individuals.
Take SATROGYL 300MG TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the right dose and duration depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
If SATROGYL 300MG TABLET causes headache, then take rest and drink plenty of fluids. Try to avoid drinking alcohol. Ask your doctor to recommend a painkiller. Headaches should usually go away after the first week of taking SATROGYL 300MG TABLET. If it lasts more than a week or becomes severe, then consult and inform your doctor.
Take SATROGYL 300MG TABLET with/just after a meal. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oil rich/spicy foods, sugary snacks and drinks. Avoid drinking too much liquid along with your meals, and drink slowly in between meals. Consult your doctor if the condition worsens.
SATROGYL 300MG TABLET is not recommended for use during pregnancy. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.
SATROGYL 300MG TABLET is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.
