ALIMNATOR contains Amorolfine which belongs to the group of medicines called antifungals. It is used in the treatment of fungal skin infections caused by dermatophytes such as tinea pedis (athlete foot), tinea cruris (also known as jock itch, that causes a red and itchy rash in the groin and inner thighs), tinea corporis (also known as ringworm, a fungal infection of arms and legs) and tinea manuum (fungal infection on both hands).
It can also be used to treat cutaneous candidiasis and pityriasis versicolor (a yeast infection of the skin that causes small, discoloured patches of skin). Amorolfine effectively kills the infection-causing organisms by inhibiting the biosynthesis of ergosterol. It alters cell membrane permeability, disrupts cellular metabolic processes and causes cell death.
Apply ALIMNATOR on the affected areas once daily preferably in the evening. Continue to apply this medicine, as long as your doctor tells you to do so, to obtain better results. Always avoid contact of this medicine with your nose, eyes, ears or on mucous membranes (such as mouth and nostrils). If accidentally contact happens, wash it out with water immediately and contact your doctor immediately. Stop applying this medicine and seek immediate medical attention if you experience any signs of allergic reactions such as skin rash. Use sunscreen and protective clothing when outdoors. Regularly use moisturizers to soothe and hydrate the affected area. If it does not get better, speak to a doctor.
Amorolfine kills the fungi by inhibiting the biosynthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes. This leads to alternation in fungal cell membrane permeability, disruption of key fungal metabolic processes and cell death.

Continue to apply this medicine, as long as your doctor tells you to do so, to obtain better results. In general, this medicine should be continued for at least 2–3 weeks. In foot mycoses, therapy up to 6 weeks may be necessary. Always avoid contact of this medicine with your nose, eyes, ears or on mucous membranes (such as mouth and nostrils). If accidentally contact happens, wash it out with water immediately and contact your doctor immediately.
